Copyright Statement

Permission is granted to use the "Jesus" background(s) in any manner which seeks to glorify Christ provided that:
  1. Such use is not primarily for business or personal gain. For example you may not sell the image or products containing the image, or use the image on a page which advertises items for sale. You may, however, use the image on a personal or non-commerical page associated with a commercial enterprise provided it meets the other criteria.

  2. A proper copyright statement is attached to the page on which it is used in order to protect the use of the image(s). The HTML code for the statement should contain the following elements

    "Background image &#169; Copyright 1998 Tim VanFosson<BR>
    Use of this image does not imply endorsement of the page contents."

  3. A link is made from the above copyright statement the following URL:

    http://www.ccad.uiowa.edu/~timv/copyright.html

    The purpose of this is to provide a convenience to the viewer so that requests for use of the image will be made to me and not to you.

  4. You send the URL of any page on which the image is used to timv@ccad.uiowa.edu.

  5. You agree to discontinue use of the image(s) at my request.
If the provisions sound excessively restrictive, it is partly due to my personality :-) and partly due to my desire that what I have created be used in a manner with which I feel comfortable. I do not feel comfortable with other people making money off these efforts or implying that I endorse what they have done without my express permission (ref. 1). I do not feel comfortable with the image(s) propagating without being able to determine how it is used (ref. 2). I do not feel comfortable with someone else being able to let others use my work without my permission (ref. 2 & 3). I do not feel comfortable with not being able to see how it is used (ref. 4), and I do not feel comfortable with losing control of how the images are used based on someone else's interpretation of the above provisions (ref. 5).

By the way, it was not difficult to make, but if you choose to make one yourself, try not to make it look exactly like mine.
